PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-microbial cellulose fiber which has an excellent anti-microbial effect and has fiber characteristics especially suitable for skins. SOLUTION: This anti-microbial cellulose fiber having cetylpyridinium carboxyalkyl groups. The anti-microbial cellulose fiber having the cetylpyridinium carboxyalkyl groups and further having anti-microbial metal carboxyalkyl groups. The cetylpyridinium carboxyalkyl groups are preferably contained in an amount of 0.0001 to 0.045 mole per anhydrous glucose unit of celluloses constituting the cellulose fiber. The anti-microbial metal carboxyalkyl groups are preferably contained in an amount of 0.001 to 0.045 mole per anhydrous glucose unit of celluloses constituting the cellulose fiber.
