<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide moist hand towel manufacturing equipment which can manufacture sufficiently sterilized and very hygienic moist hand towels and a moist hand towel manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The moist hand towel manufacturing equipment includes a delivery section 20 which delivers dry hand towels 11a from a roll holding section 10 storing sheetlike dry towels 11a, a cutting section 30 which cuts the dry towels 11a delivered by the delivery section 20 to a prescribed length, water sprinkling nozzles 41 which make the watered towels by jetting water to the dry towels 11a and a moist hand towel forming section 50 which forms the moist hand towels by coiling or folding the watered towels, and is characterized in that an ultraviolet light irradiation unit 60 is provided in the vicinity of the water sprinkling nozzle 41.
