<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head which can reduce generation of banding by a simple configuration without a rise of prices caused, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the line head 23, light emitting element arrays in which many light emitting elements are arranged in an array shape in a main scanning direction of a photoreceptor are arranged in a plurality of arrays in a sub-scanning direction of the photoreceptor. Organic EL light emitting elements 61a, 61b, 61c and 61d of each adjacent array are arranged to be positionally shifted by an amount of one element in the main scanning direction. After the light emitting elements of a first array are made to emit light, the light emitting elements of an outermost n-th array are made to emit light after the lapse of a predetermined time, whereby latent images of one array are formed on the photoreceptor. The photoreceptor is rotary driven via a plurality of gears. An inter-array interval L of the light emitting element arrays of the first array and the n-th array in the sub-scanning direction of the photoreceptor is made not smaller than 1/2 of a length on the photoreceptor corresponding to one tooth pitch of every one of a plurality of the gears. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
