PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing method, a fixing device and the like wherein toner can be fixed by using a fixing solution of a suitable quantity, the suitable quantity can be easily regulated and an image of high fixing performance can be obtained. SOLUTION: The fixing solution 47 in which a softener for dissolving or swelling resin is contained is jetted by a spray gun 41 and stuck to unfixed toner 48 transferred to the surface of a recording medium 46 and containing resin to fix the unfixed toner 48 on the recording medium 46 as fixed toner 50. The fixing solution 47 contains a substance having a function for reducing a calorific value necessary for the dissolution or swelling of the resin, and the smallest quantity out of quantities for reducing the calorific value necessary for the dissolution or swelling to approximate zero may be allowed as the quantity of the substance.
