PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure continuity in which color conversion in a high saturation side and that in a low saturation side are smoothly connected in the vicinity of a color gamut boundary of an outputting device in accordance with an expected color based on subjective evaluation in color conversion processing when the color gamut of an input system and that of an output system are largely different. SOLUTION: An area judgement section 2 converts input data 1 to a color space to execute area judgement, judges that the color space is included in what area of the color gamut of the image outputting device, and sends the judgement information to a color-conversion-parameter selection section 3. The color-conversion-parameter selection section 3 selects color conversion parameters according to the judgement information. A color conversion section 4 executes the color conversion using the selected color conversion parameters to output the color signal for forming the image in the image outputting device.
