PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission capable of improving the efficiency of lubricating toroidal surfaces. SOLUTION: The toroidal continuously variable transmission has an input disk 2 and an output disk 3 provided in such a manner as to be capable of rotating relative to each other; toroidal surfaces 8, 9 provided respectively on the overall peripheries of the input disk 2 and the output disk 3; a power roller 10 that rolls in contact with the toroidal surfaces 8, 9; and a lubricating oil supply mechanism 25 for supplying lubricating oil to the toroidal surfaces 8, 9. A cover 29 for covering the toroidal surfaces 8, 9 is provided. The cover 29 covers the overall toroidal surfaces 8, 9 in their radial direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
