PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage collecting vehicle for allowing efficient loading work while identifying the position of a discharge plate during loading work, and to provide a discharge plate position indicating device. SOLUTION: The garbage collecting vehicle 1 comprises a garbage storage box 2, a garbage charge box 3 provided in linkage to the garbage storage box 2 and having a charge port 3a in the rear face for garbage to be charged therethrough, a loading device 50 for performing the operation of loading the garbage charged through the charge port 3a into the garbage storage box 2, and the discharge plate 13 provided in the garbage storage box 2 reciprocatively in the longitudinal direction for discharging the garbage stored in the garbage storage box 2 from an opening 2a. It also has an inclination angle sensor S fixed to a link mechanism L linked to the discharge plate 13 of the garbage storage box 2, and an indicator 17 for indicating the inclination angle of the link mechanism L detected by the inclination angle sensor S toward the rear side of the garbage charge box 3, as the longitudinal position of the discharge plate 13.
