PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which effective utilization of light from a light source is not considered in a conventional headlamp for a vehicle. SOLUTION: The headlamp for the vehicle is provided with a discharge lamp 2, a main reflector 3 having a main reflection surface 10 for reflecting light from the discharge lamp 2, a projector lens 4 for projecting reflected light from the main reflection surface 10 of the main reflector 3 on a front of the vehicle as a light distribution pattern LP for crossing, and an auxiliary reflector 11 having an auxiliary reflection surface 13 for reflecting light L1 from the discharge lamp 2 on the front of the vehicle as an auxiliary light distribution pattern SP. The auxiliary reflection surface 13 comprises multistage reflection surfaces 131-136 of revolution paraboloids of which focal points F4 are approximately identical, and of which focal distances f1-f6 are different.
