<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of preventing abnormal potential generated after power generation stop of the fuel cell system; and an abnormal potential control method of the fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system includes a fuel cell layered product composed by stacking one or more fuel cells each generating power by the reaction between a fuel gas supplied to an anode electrode and an oxidizing gas supplied to a cathode electrode.
