PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emboss processing method which can select very widely even an aspect of a material, such as a resin, etc. and can easily form a rugged pattern by utilizing an aqueous overprint varnish composition which is simple to regulate a viscosity and a characteristic value as other varnish further in addition to a film physical characteristic. SOLUTION: A manufacturing process of the printed matter comprises the step of printing or coating an oil overprint varnish composition (containing 0.1-10 mass.% of a mold lubricant and 1-15mass.% of noncrystalline silica in the oil overprint varnish composition) at a print surface side of a base material. Further, the manufacturing process of the printed matter comprises the steps of coating the aqueous overprint varnish composition (having a surface tension higher by 5 mN/m or more than the surface tension of a dilute material diluted by adding 50 parts mass of a toluene to 50 parts mass of the oil overprint varnish composition) on the printing or coating surface of the varnish composition of a wet state, then hardening and drying it, and forming an aqueous overprint varnish composition film of the rugged pattern.
