A cathode ray tube is provided to prevent glass debris from being scattered, when the tube is broken, by arranging a wide band at a left side of a panel and a funnel. A cathode ray tube includes a tube(24), a deflector(30), an electron gun(28), and a wide band(32). The tube includes a panel, a funnel, and a neck. A fluorescent screen is formed on an inner surface of the panel. The funnel is connected to the panel through a seal layer. The neck is connected to the funnel. The deflector is implemented outside the funnel. The electron gun is implemented outside the neck. The wide band is arranged at the outside of the panel and the funnel and forms a bead portion, which is arranged to be opposed to the seal layer.
