PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an advanced encryption standard (AES) encryption circuit which can cope with higher speed for operation frequency. SOLUTION: A first flip-flop 4 for temporarily storing the conversion result of a ShiftRows conversion circuit 3 is installed. A MixColumns conversion circuit 5 includes a second flip-flop which performs mixing conversion on the output of the first flip-flop 4 in column direction, and which temporarily stores the conversion result. Accordingly, round processing by a SubBytes conversion circuit on an AddRoundKey conversion circuit is turned into pipeline. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
