PURPOSE:To obtain a pin gage having higher precision than the precision of a metallic pin gage without decreasing the accuracy by consisting the same of a ceramic material such as alumina, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, sialon, zirconia or the like. CONSTITUTION:Zirconia ceramics is formed by adding a slight amt. of a sintering assistant, binder, etc. to for expample, zirconia powder sized to a high degree, molding the powder under pressure or adding a suitable solvent, dispersent, softener and binder to the zirconia powder, mixing the same to a slurry, casting the slurry into a mold and drying the same. The sintered body obtd. by calcining the molding is subjected to precise polishing. On the other hand, silicon nitride ceramics and silicon carbide ceramics are obtd. by calcining the same by a so-called hot press method. Not only a columnar-shaped pin gage P but also gages meeting measuring requirements such as a space gage S provided with various thicknesses D and an angle gage A provided with an angle theta are manufactured. |
