PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping mechanism capable of gripping and rotating a work, having a round rod shape, with correct attitude and to provide a measuring device capable of accurately measuring the contour of the work. SOLUTION: The clamping mechanism 30 includes a grip part 10 for gripping the work R having a very thin round rod shape, an attitude adjusting part 20 adjusting the attitude of the gripped work R, a bearing 27 pivoting the grip part 10 and the attitude adjustment part 20 as an integrated body, and a motor 29 as a rotating driving part for making the grip part 10 rotate and the attitude adjustment part 20 as an integrated body.
