PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic latent image development and a developer for electrostatic latent image development that are superior in charging stability during long-term printing in a high temperature and high humidity environment and in charging stability after being left to stand for a long period of time in a high temperature and high humidity environment. SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic latent image development has a core particle and a resin coating layer coating the surface of the core particle, and the developer for electrostatic latent image development contains the carrier, wherein the resin coating layer contains at least one coating resin selected from an acrylic resin, a styrene-acrylic resin and a polyester resin, the coating resin contains at least one of urethane crosslinking and urea crosslinking, and the total molar ratio of urethane crosslinking and urea crosslinking in the coating resin is set in a predetermined range. Therefore, the present invention can provide the carrier for electrostatic latent image development and the developer for electrostatic latent image development that are superior in charging stability during long-term printing in a high temperature and high humidity environment and in charging stability after being left to stand for a long period of time in a high temperature and high humidity environment.
