<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ear-type body-temperature measuring method by a radiation thermometer comprising a heatable measuring tip. <P>SOLUTION: A control device switches off a heating element after a user has actuated an actuating device. After a certain amount of time, a plurality of temperature measurements are successively carried out, and the temperature to be displayed is determined from the measured temperatures or an error message is displayed.
