PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas oil composition comprising a fatty acid alkyl ester compounded therein and having a high defoaming rate. SOLUTION: The gas oil composition is obtained by compounding a hydrocarbon-based gas oil base material with the fatty acid alkyl ester in an amount of 2-20 vol.% based on the total amount of the composition. The hydrocarbon-based gas oil base material has≤35 defoaming time index A represented by formula (1) A=3.72(1.08a-25.91)<SP>1.75</SP>(1) [wherein, a represents the surface tension (mN/m) of the hydrocarbon-based gas oil base material].
