PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine which performs holding so as not to let a prize established by the combination of tentatively arranged symbols be obtained and rearranges the symbols other than the held ones, and a play method of the slot machine. SOLUTION: So as not to let the prize established by the combination of stop-displayed symbols 46 be obtained, after holding a specified reel among reels 23-27 where symbol columns are respectively stop-displayed, the reels other than the held one are rotated again and the symbol columns are scrolled again to rearrange the symbols 46.
