A method and an apparatus for saving and transmitting a travel path in a navigation terminal are provided to display a clear image on the navigation terminal by changing a resolution of the image according to a size of the navigation terminal. A GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver(106) receives information on a current position of a navigation terminal from a satellite. A communication unit(109) transmits and receives a map file to and from other terminals. A storage unit(112) stores map images and a travel path. An input unit(121) includes plural numeric/character keys and a learning mode key. A graphic processor(115) displays received map image data on a display. The display(118) displays the image from the graphic processor. A controller(103) controls overall components. When the learning mode key is pressed, the controller stores a current travel path, analyzes the travel path, and generates a map. The controller stores the map on the storage unit.
