PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and control an overload state in a telephone conference system. SOLUTION: The telephone conference system with a network includes a plurality of nodes such as terminals which communicate with one another through the network. Audio streams of live talk are transmitted from the terminals to constitute a conference. Each terminal can detect the overload state. In the overload state, the number of audio streams of live talk transmitted from a plurality of terminals which exist simultaneously is over a predetermined value. Each terminal, together with other terminals, controls the number of audio streams transmitted simultaneously so that the overload state is finished. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
