PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize deterioration of an image of high importance when cache data are deleted.

SOLUTION: A recording device which receives and records fragmented image data finds kinds of image data, determines priority levels by the fragmented image data according to the kinds, and compares them with fragmented image data which are already recorded. Consequently, fragmented image data having low priority levels are recorded on a disk and deleted from a cache to increase the free capacity of the cache, and then the fragmented image data are recorded.
