PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-retaining cement composition used to be filled in continuous voids or the like of a porous hardened body which is a main body of pavement in order to suppress temperature rise of road surface due to direct sunlight in summer, which has a controlling effect of six-valent chromium elution from cement. SOLUTION: The powdery water-retaining cement composition comprises cement and a water-retaining material, where the ratio of alumina cement is 3-25 mass%, the ratio of other cement is 10-55 mass% in the cement composition, and the ratio of white cement in the other cement is≥70 mass%. This water-retaining cement composition preferably further comprises slaked lime. A preferable example of the water-retaining material is sepiolite. The water-retaining cement composition is used as materials for a filler of continuous voids and a joint part 4 of a pavement block 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
