PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to make it possible to nondestructively recognize whether fuel assemblies inside a canister damaged from outside without unsealing the container. SOLUTION: In a device for discriminating fuel damage of fuel assemblies in the canister 1 which houses them, the device has a pressure sensor (for example, a bellows 11), mounted on the inside wall 21 of the canister 1 and a pressure reading means (for example, an ultrasonic probe 14), which is mounted on the outside wall 22 of the canister 1 and can read the indicated value of the bellow 11.
