PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away tip which machines a workpiece with high efficiency by preventing burrs from occurring and minimizing degradation of the strength of a cutting point, and also to provide a throw-away cutting tool. SOLUTION: A tip main body 10 having an almost polygonal plate shape is formed of: a rake face 11 formed like a polygonal surface; corner cutting points 12 formed at corner portions of the rake face 11; main cutting points 13 each formed along a side ridge of the polygonal surface, that extends from one end of the corner cutting point 12, so as to be adjacent to the one end; and flank portions 14, deburring blades 15, and sub-cutting blades 16 each formed along the other side ridge of the polygonal surface, which extend from the other end of the corner cutting point 12, so as to be adjacent to the other end successively in this order in a direction where they separate from the corner cutting point 12. Each flank portion 14 is recessed inward of the tip main body 10 from a tangent T of the corner cutting point 12 in parallel with a straight line connecting between both edges of the sub-cutting point 16, and the sub-cutting point 16 and the deburring blade 15 protrude outward of the tip main body 10 from the tangent T.
