摘要 PURPOSE: A field emission display device and a method for driving the same are provided to minimize power consumption, enhance luminescence, and represent linear scale. CONSTITUTION: A file emission display device comprises an anode electrode, cathode electrodes(52) parallel to the anode electrode, gate electrodes(50) formed to cross the cathode electrodes(52), and emitters(54) formed adjacently to the crossed areas(60) of the cathode electrodes(52) and the gate electrodes(50). The emitters(54) are formed on the cathode electrode(52) near the crossed areas(60) in rectangle shapes along the gate electrodes(54). Height of each emitter(54) is lower than the gate electrodes(54). Resist layers are formed between the emitters(54) and the cathode electrodes(52). The resist layers limits over-current flowing from the cathode electrodes(52) to the emitters(54) to supply current uniformly. Gate insulating layers are formed between the resist layers and the gate electrodes(50) to insulate the cathode electrodes(52) from the gate electrodes(54).
