PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical-orientation type liquid crystal orientation agent, excellent in vertical orientation, short in erasing time of persistent vision in a liquid crystal display element, and preferably usable as a MVA-type liquid crystal display element, and to provide a liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: The vertical-orientation type liquid-crystal orientation agent is composed of a polymer having a diamine of a specific structure, and a repeating unit having an imide ring, wherein repeating unit is 40 mol% or above of a total repeating unit, and the liquid crystal display element using the same is provided. |
