A digital photographing apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to obtain a clear image even though the digital photographing apparatus is shaken by hand trembling during photographing. An image formation position of an object is uniformly maintained in an image pickup device of a photographing apparatus, regardless of shake of the photographing apparatus due to hand trembling of a high-frequency area. A first type of information for the object is obtained, and a second type of information for the object is obtained with different sensitivity from the sensitivity when the first type information is obtained. An image of the object is obtained from the first type of information and the second type of information, wherein the image of the object is not influenced by hand trembling of a low-frequency area.
