An elliptical exercise apparatus comprises two cranks 20, 20' disposed rotatably on a frame 10 and rotatable about a common crank axis, two rails 30, 30' each disposed fixedly on the frame 10 and having a non-circular guide slot 33, 33', two extension links 40, 40' connected respectively, radially, and slidably to the cranks 20, 20' and mounted with rollers 44, 44' disposed respectively and movably within the guide slots 33, 33', two connector members 50, 50' disposed on the frame 10 and reciprocal along a longitudinal direction of the frame 10, and two foot links 60, 60' each having a first end 61, 61' connected pivotally to the corresponding extension link 40, 40' and a second end 62, 62' connected pivotally to the corresponding connector member 50, 50'. When the rollers 44, 44' move along the rails 30, 30', the extension links 40, 40' are extendable and retractable relative to the cranks 20, 20', respectively. |
