A method of optimizing an air conditioning control system for a vehicle is provided to reduce the overall size of propulsion cooling system in a non-hybrid vehicle and lower operating temperature for coolant loops in a hybrid and fuel cell vehicle by reducing heat load of an air conditioner and monitoring whether the operating temperatures exceed a predetermined temperature limits. A method of optimizing an air conditioning control system for a vehicle comprises the steps of: checking whether the temperature of engine coolant is higher than a temperature limit of a first engine coolant and lower than a temperature limit of a second engine coolant; checking whether the temperature of transmission oil is higher than a temperature limit of a first transmission oil and lower than a temperature limit of a second transmission oil; reducing heat load of an air conditioner by increasing indoor recirculation of air; reducing indoor blower speed; reducing compression of the air conditioner; checking whether the temperature of engine coolant is higher than the temperature limit of the second engine coolant; and checking whether the temperature of transmission oil is higher than the temperature limit of the second transmission oil.
