LIGHT EMISSION DEVICE AND LIQUID CRSYTAL DISPLAY WITH THE LIGHT EMISSION DEVICE AS BACKLIGHT UNIT

A light emission device and a liquid crystal display having the same as a backlight unit are provided to suppress a voltage drop of an anode electrode by using first and second auxiliary electrodes. A first substrate and a second substrate(14) are disposed to be opposite to each other in order to form a vacuum receptacle. An electron emission unit is formed on one side of the first substrate. A light emitting unit is formed on one side of the second substrate. The light emitting unit includes an anode electrode(30), a phosphor layer(32), and a first auxiliary electrode(34). The anode electrode is formed on one side of the second substrate. The phosphor layer is positioned on one side of the anode electrode. The first auxiliary electrode contacts with the anode electrode and is positioned across the inside of the phosphor layer. The first auxiliary electrode has a resistance lower than the resistance of the anode electrode.
