A railway car has a power-operated (5) sliding double-door (1) for access and egress. The door rests in a surrounding frame against which it is locked when closed by a bolt that engages with the base frame floor (4). The door has a secondary locking system (10) that engages either between adjacent doors or at the base of a single door.
