<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the performance of retrieving information regardless of the amount of data to be retrieved. <P>SOLUTION: An information retrieval system 1 comprises one or more clients 2 and a server 3 connected to each other via a network 4. When the server 3 executes a plurality of processes upon receiving a data retrieval request from the client 2, the plurality of processes are executed either in a batch or separately in parallel according to the status of progress of at least one of the processes, and the plurality of processes executed in parallel are executed in a batch. The information retrieval system 1 is, e.g., a network banking system, and the plurality of processes include a process (first process) for causing the server 3 to obtain details of deposits and withdrawals corresponding to retrieval conditions added to the data retrieval request from the client 2 and to send the details to the client 2, and a process (second process) for causing the server 3 to calculate totals of deposits and withdrawals concerning the details of deposits and withdrawals corresponding to the retrieval conditions and to send the results to the client 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
