A solenoid fluid control valve has a solenoid plunger (12) driving a valve shaft (22) with a coupling element between the shaft and the valve seat, e.g. a ball bearing. This provides radial uncoupling between the solenoid and the valve. One seal comprises the coupling element with a second seal provided between a sleeve containing the valve shaft and the fixed housing, inside which the shaft moves with some radial freedom.
