A method for driving an electrode of a plasma display device is provided to decrease a peak value of a current flowing through an output terminal of an address electrode driver by floating address signals or applying the address signals on respective groups with a predetermined time difference. A plasma display device includes front and rear substrates and plural scan and address electrodes. The plasma display device performs a reset period, an addressing period, and a sustain period. Address signals, which are applied on the address electrodes, are classified into respective groups. During the reset period, the scan signals, which are applied on the scan electrodes, are increased from a ground voltage to a high positive voltage, while the address signals are increased from a first voltage to a second voltage. The address signals are applied on the respective groups with a predetermined time difference. |
