<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the layout area of pixels smaller. <P>SOLUTION: In an organic EL display device which has a striped array, two left and right pixel circuits 10 and 10 which are adjacent to each other in the same pixel row are paired. Two pixel circuits 10, 10 are formed so that layout shapes of an organic EL element 11 and circuit elements (12 to 18) are laid out symmetrically when these two pixel circuits 10, 10 are viewed from the opposite direction (from the right for the left-side pixel circuit or from the left for the right-side pixel circuit) from the pixel array direction of pixel rows (the left and right directions in Fig.).
