PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for managing the performance of a computer system inspecting load and improving performance for every physical storage medium constituting a storage device. SOLUTION: The computer system includes a storage device for recording data in a logical storage area created in a physical storage device comprising a physical storage medium; a host computer for reading and writing data in the logical storage area via a network; and a managing computer for managing the storage device and the host computer. The managing computer records the components of the storage device included in a communication path for the host computer to read and write data, the connection relationship between the components, the correspondence between the logical storage area and the components, and the load on each component part. Based on all the information recorded, the managing computer specifies the components included in the path from an interface connecting the storage device with the network to the physical storage medium, and inspects the specified components for load so as to improve performance.
