PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal compressor having a simpler structure than the conventional centrifugal compressor, and capable of autonomously varying the volume of a diffuser according to a gas flow rate. SOLUTION: This centrifugal compressor has an impeller 21 supported in a housing 13 and the diffuser 18 formed by each of wall members mutually opposed on the downstream side of the impeller 21, and compresses with centrifugal force, gas sucked into the housing 13 by the rotation of the impeller 21. The wall member has a space part 19 recessed from a diffuser 18 side, and is provided with a diaphragm 26 which partitions the diffuser 18 from the space part 19, projects to the diffuser 18 side, and acts as a diffuser vane.
