PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method by which the clogging of a submerged nozzle is eliminated by arranging a swirling flow-giving mechanism in a tundish, then, the fluidity of molten metal in a mold can be stabilized. SOLUTION: A molten metal continuous casting method is provided by which a refractory-made structure having an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder is arranged with the axis thereof set vertical in a tundish above the submerged nozzle and the molten metal is continuously cast, wherein an outer cylinder side wall is formed with side holes, the side hole has the center of an opening part at the outlet side of the outer cylinder side wall at the cross point of an imaginary line extended radially from the center of a horizontal cross section of the structure with the inner surface of the outer cylinder, and the side hole tilts at an angleθ1 to the imaginary line, and the inner cylinder at its lower portion is shorter than the outer cylinder, and wherein the molten metal is caused to pass from the inlet side opening part of the side hole at the outer cylinder outer surface to the outlet side opening part of the inner surface thereof thereby swirling flow is given to the molten metal in the submerged nozzle. It is desirable that the maximum diameter of the outer cylinder in the horizontal directional cross section is 150-3,000 mm and the maximum inner diameter of the inner cylinder is 50-1,000 mm andθ1 is 15-80°.
