PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circular lens constituted so that centering work can be easily and accurately performed in a short time without using a complicated device as to a light wave front modulation element where a free curved surface comprising an asymmetric surface with respect to the center of an optical axis is formed, and also to provide a lens barrel including the circular lens, and an imaging apparatus using the circular lens. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is equipped with: an optical system 11; at least one modulation element 114 for light wave front provided in the optical system 11; an imaging device for picking up a subject dispersed image passing through the optical system 11 and the light wave front modulation element 114; and a conversion means for generating a non-dispersed image signal from a subject dispersed image signal from the imaging device. The optical system 11 is constituted by using the circular lens having the free curved surface 113 comprising the asymmetric surface with respect to the center of the optical axis in a light transmission area, and a curved surface for clamping 1141 having a center on the optical axis to surround the periphery of the free curved surface 113 and also set so that its thickness may be increased or decreased in a radial direction at a curvature different between a light incident side and a light emitting side as the modulation element 114 for light wave front.
