摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cutting tool having a hard coating layer exhibiting excellent chipping resistance and wear resistance in high-speed cutting of heat-resistant alloy. SOLUTION: The surface coated cutting tool is coated with a (Al, Cr, B) N layer having an average layer thickness of 1-8μm and such a composition that a point containing the maximum Al and a point containing the maximum B are alternately and repeatedly present with predetermined intervals along the layer thickness direction on a surface of a tool base made of tungsten-carbide-radical hard metal or titanium-carbonitride-based cermet. Content ratios of Al, Cr and B at the point containing the maximum Al are 0.4-0.65, 0.3-0.50 and 0.05-0.20, respectively.
