PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a picture quality from degrading by air bubbles which partially exist in a common ink chamber. SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus is equipped with: a common ink chamber 14; a plurality of ink discharging ports 6; an orifice plate 5; a plurality of ink discharging grooves 4; and a plurality of air layer forming grooves 10. The common ink chamber 14 houses an ink layer 21, and the air layer 16 which is uniformly formed above the ink layer 21 in the gravity direction. The plurality of ink discharging ports 6 discharge the ink of the ink layer 21. The orifice plate 5 has a plurality of discharging ports 15 which control the air amount of the air layer 16. The plurality of ink discharging grooves 4 communicate with the ink discharging ports 6 and the ink layer 21.
