MANUFACTURING METHOD OF POLYELECTROLYTE EMULSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polyelectrolyte emulsion exhibiting good dispersion stability without using an emulsifier.

SOLUTION: [1] The manufacturing method of a polyelectrolyte emulsion comprises steps (1) and (2) below: (1) a preparation step for preparing a polyelectrolyte solution having a polyelectrolyte concentration of 0.1-10 wt.% by dissolving the polyelectrolyte in a solvent comprising a good solvent for the polyelectrolyte; and (2) a mixing step for mixing the polyelectrolyte solution obtained in (1) with a poor solvent for the polyelectrolyte in a ratio of 4-99 times by weight based on the polyelectrolyte solution. [2] The polyelectrolyte emulsion obtained by the manufacturing method of [1] contains polyelectrolyte particles having an average particle size of 100 nm to 200 μm and is substantially free from an emulsifier.
