<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, system and program for reducing transmission time by transmitting update data of firmware for the peripheral device such as a printer at the highest communication speed with peripheral equipment such as a printer connected to a communication network to a maximum communication speed adaptable to the peripheral equipment such as a printer without directly operating the peripheral equipment such as a printer. <P>SOLUTION: A computer 11 or the like receives an available maximum communication speed from the peripheral equipment (printer 13a1 or the like), and resets the communication speed of the peripheral equipment (printer 13a1 or the like) to the available maximum communication speed to transmit the update data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
