PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood component collecting apparatus capable of executing autotransfusion in a simple constitution and suppressing side effects of anticoagulant on a donor. SOLUTION: This blood component collecting apparatus collects blood, centrifugally separates the collected blood, stores the obtained plasma and platelets in a plasma collection bag and a platelet collection bag, then reverses a blood pump and retransfuses the surplus platelets from the platelet collection bag to the donor via a centrifugal bowl (step S101). After a prescribed amount of the surplus platelets are discharged form the platelet collection bag, air is exhausted from an air bag and substituted therefor in an outlet line of the centrifugal bowl (step S102). The blood pump is stopped and the centrifugal bowl is rotated to mix the surplus platelets with erythrocyte (step S103). The blood pump is reversed again and the surplus platelets mixed with the erythrocyte components in the centrifugal bowl are retransfused to the donor (step S104). COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
