PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data backup device and a data backup system capable of reliably backing up data necessary for operating the other device, and, even when electric power supplied from a power source drops due to a power failure, an instantaneous interruption, or the like, resuming the operation of the other device after recovering from the state in which the electric power drops, in the state before the electric power drops. SOLUTION: Data of electric devices A1-An is acquired by a complex machine 10 by the power line communication and is stored in a storage part 14. The acquisition of the data by the complex machine 10 is performed as needed at the predetermined time or at the predetermined time intervals in normal conditions when there is no drop of electric power, or is performed when the drop of electric power is detected by an electric power drop detection part 18. The storage part 14 is provided with a first storage area, a second storage area, and a third storage area.
