PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel image forming apparatus that holds luster and fixing properties of an image uniform as needed by preventing a peel blister from being formed by suppressing excessive rising of surface temperature of a belt nipped with a heat fixing roller with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The printer 2 comprises: a fixing device 50 including the heat fixing roller 54 and a belt 55; a driving motor M; a fixation temperature detector S1; and a controller 80. The controller 80 has a fixation temperature correction control table, counts how many times the driving motor M stops within intervals of one minute after entering a print state from a standby state and driving the driving motor M to rotate, and lowers set fixation temperature by one level by referring to the fixation temperature correction control table when the driving motor stops more than twice.
