PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optionally limit the limit range of manual zoom operation without spoiling operability in manual operation and handleability of a lens device. SOLUTION: A zoom position to limit the range of the zoom operation is set in S101 and S102. When a zoom operation ring is manually operated, and the zoom position does not reach a set zoom limit position in S403, an electromagnetic clutch maintains an off-state in S401, and the manual operation is performed as it is. When the zoom position is aligned with the set zoom limit position in S403, and further the direction of the manual operation is a direction coming off from the limit range of the operation in a step S404, the electromagnetic clutch is turned on to fix the zoom operation ring in S405. When the zoom operation ring is operated in a direction within the limit range of the operation from the zoom limit position in S406, the electromagnetic clutch is turned off, and the manual operation within the limit range of the operation is performed.
