PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overload torque cut-off device for easily and reliably cutting off torque transmission without causing noises or damage during the occurrence of overload and immediately braking a driven side member. SOLUTION: The device comprises a driving side member 10, the driven side member 20 spline-fitted to a driven shaft 2, and a spring means 5 for thrusting and energizing the driven side member 20 against the driving side member 10. One of the driving side member 10 and the driven side member 20 has an engaging element 12, and the other has an engaging recessed portion 22. Both rotating-direction ends of the engaging element 12 and the engaging recessed portion 22 are formed as inclined faces. Normally, both inclined faces on the rotating-direction front side are held in a torque-transmissive abutting and engaging condition, and during the occurrence of overload, the engaging element 12 is separated from the engaging recessed portion 22 along the inclined face to make the driven side member 20 separated from the driving side member 10.
