摘要 A method of driving an electro-optical element, a pixel circuit, an electro-optical device, and an electronic apparatus are provided to simplify a signal processing step by not requiring a gamma correction by supplying a constant voltage to one of electrodes on the electro-optical element. An electro-optical element(13) includes first and second electrodes and an electro-optical element material. The electro-optical element material is applied between the first and second electrodes. An optical property of the electro-optical element is changed according to an applied voltage. A first switching element is implemented between a first data line and the first electrode. A constant voltage is supplied to the first switching element during a first period. During a second period, a data potential according to a grayness to be displayed is supplied to the first switching element. A second switching element is implemented between a second data line and the second electrode. During the first period, the data potential is supplied to the second switching element, while the constant voltage is supplied to the second switching element during a second period. The first and second switching elements are turned on complementarily with respect to each other.
