<p>A method for controlling an inverter compressor and an air conditioner applying the same are provided to prevent over current of the inverter compressor by limiting substantial current of the inverter compressor within start-limiting current which is lower than maximum limit current of the inverter compressor. In a method for controlling an inverter compressor, the inverter compressor is controlled in accordance with a result from comparing current of the inverter compressor to start-limiting current of the inverter compressor when in starting the inverter compressor. The start-limiting current of the inverter compressor is lower than maximum limit current of the inverter compressor. The starting time of the inverter compressor is determined by driving frequency of the inverter compressor.</p> |
